Here what vaccine should be given for babies and children according to American and Jordanian schedules:
-Primary or Ministry Of Health vaccines:
-BCG vaccine: (first vaccine) BCG, or bacille Calmette-Guerin, is a vaccine for tuberculosis (TB) disease, this vaccine has high prevalence of TB to prevent childhood tuberculous meningitis and miliary disease.
-Hexaxim vaccine: (As injection given on 2, 4, 6 and 18 months) 6-in-1 vaccine, is a combination vaccine with six individual vaccines conjugated into one which are; diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, hepatitis B, polio and haemophilus influenza B.
-Rotavirus vaccine: (given as drops on 3 doses done before 7 months) this virus cause severe watery diarrhoea, vomiting, fever and abdominal pain also it can spread easily among infants and young children. Children who get rotavirus disease can become dehydrated and may need to be hospitalized. CDC recommends that infants get rotavirus vaccine to protect against rotavirus disease.
-Hepatitis A vaccine: (As injection given on 15 and 21 months) is a vaccine that prevents hepatitis A.
-MMR vaccine( Measles, Mumps and Rubella viruses): (Asvinjection given on 12 and 18 months)
-Additional or Private vaccines:
-Pneumococcal vaccine: (As injection given on 2,4,6 and 15 months) The pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) and the pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccine (PPSV23) protect against pneumococcal infections. The bacteria that cause these infections spread through person-to-person contact. They can lead to serious infections like pneumonia, blood infections, and bacterial meningitis.
-Chicken pox vaccine: ( As injection on 12 and 18 months)
-Typhoid vaccine: ( As injection after 2 years old) Typhoid vaccines are vaccines that prevent typhoid fever.
-Meningococcal vaccine: ( As injection on 9 months and 10 years old) Vaccines can help prevent meningococcal disease, which is any type of illness caused by Neisseria meningitidis bacteria.
