Expecting Parents Guidelines and Vaccine for baby schedule

Here is what you need to know about your newborn's visit guidelines 

1st visit

7 days old:

- Check weight gain, head growth, and height

- Check feeding/ maintain and support breastfeeding as well as dealing with feeding difficulties.

- Newborn screening test list: Hearing test

- Neonatal Blood Screen 

- Vaccine for baby schedule

- Supplement with Vitamin D

- Check for Hip Dislocation 

- Screen for congenital heart defects 

2nd Visit

One month old:  

- Evaluate baby's growth parameters (on the newborn growth chart)

- Check the general wellbeing of the child

- Evaluate baby's feeding issues

3rd Visit

2 Months old:

- General Evaluation 

- Starting Vaccines for baby (1st dose of Prevenar vaccine)

- Gross motor evaluation 

- Arrange for Hip evaluation via ultrasound or x-ray

4th Visit

3 months 

- Growth evaluation 

- Screen for DDH

5th Visit

4 months old

- Growth and Developmental milestones evaluation 

- Weaning program;  when to start solid food assessment 

- 2nd dose of Prevenar vaccine

6th Visit

6 months old:

- General check- up

- 3rd dose of Prevenar vaccine

7th Visit

8 months old:

- General check- up

- Newborn screening test list: Vision Test 

8th Visit 

9- 10 months old:

- Nutritional evaluation with General check- up

- 1st dose of Menactra vaccine 

- Check for Iron deficiency
