Child formula is made of cow milk with some additives like Iron, Vitamins and other changes but it's still the main component, except in some special formulas.
Some formulas contains hydrolyzed protein and some only have amino acids.
The standard for the babies is to have their mother's breast milk which is produced from the lactating glands. it has the full needs for the baby, and through it the mother can imprint her genes in her child. (it's humanized only)
In some cases, mothers were unable to breastfeed, therefore the first produced formula for infants by Justus von Liebig in 1865.
Sometimes the babies body recognize the formula as a foreign material which is known as cow milk protein allergy, CMA has different symptoms and grades, like colic, gases, vomiting and mucus or blood in stool.
so my advice is to breastfeed and avoid the use of formula if unnecessary.
